Matthew 6:9 - This, then is how you should pray:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,”
What is the name of our Father according to the teachings of Jesus Christ?
Acts 17:22-23 - “So Paul, standing before the council, addressed them as follows: “Men of Athens, I notice that you are very religious in every way,“
“for as I was walking along I saw your many shrines. And one of your altars had this inscription on it: ‘To an Unknown God.’ This God, whom you worship without knowing, is the one I’m telling you about.”
Do you know what our Father’s name? Is His name Yahweh? Jehovah? God? Lord? Elohim? El Shaddai? Adonai? Or Abba…?
No, all of these are only titles.
The real name of God has not hidden anymore. If one only does some research, seeks, and prays to reveal to him the truth. Not all the Bibles have God’s name in it. And I’m afraid it will be gone soon.
Why do we need to know His name?
- It’s the most important in the world.
- That’s where we will find salvation. (John 17:3)
- and it’s not to become a member of a sect. (Individual salvation)
How sure am I that is the real name of God the Father? Because…
- They sing it in heaven. (Revelation 19:1)
- All Christians in every sect/group also sing it.
- The names of God the Father and the Son were the only names capitalized in the Bible. (See Matthew 1:21 & Luke 1:31 for the name of the Son.)
Psalms 22:22 - “I will declare your name to my people; in the assembly, I will praise you.”
2 Peter 1:4-9 - “Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance;and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.”
